It is the most important gastronomic event in the region and has a great projection throughout Galicia, since since 2013 it was declared of “Galician Tourist Interest”.

It is celebrated annually the second weekend of May in order to exalt and value this delicious traditional sweet.

It consists of three desserts:

Melindres

Small donuts that are given shine and color with a sugar bath are the most recognized sweets in Melide’s pastries.

Almendrados

Made with ground almonds, egg whites, sugar and wafers for the base, which give them its unmistakable appearance.

Ricos

Characteristic for their elongated shape and for their external hardness, the Ricos are unique sweets, which are only made in the land of Melide.

Seafood Party (O Grove)

Party with roots and tradition. It has been held since 1963 and in the 80s it was declared a “Festival of tourist interest”. It is celebrated in the first fortnight of October and its duration is one week.

El Grove is a municipality and a peninsula located in the western part of the Salnés region, at the entrance to the Arosa estuary, in north-western Spain. Its gentilicio is “grovense”, although its inhabitants are popularly better known as “Mecos”.
